Vegas Baby.. :)

Not much stitching last week; I met my daughter and her friends in Vegas.. We had front row seats to see Backstreet Boys. I have been taking Ash to see them since she was 13, she bought these tickets. lol We stayed at Excalibur and had an amazing 3 days. I took two things to stitch on and never opened the project bags.. Kevin is my favorite BSB, he came over and held my hand and sung to me...it was pretty amazing.. Trying to catch up at work now from being gone. Just booked my flight to go home to see my mom May 9-18th.. I can't wait to see her. Hope everyone is having a great week and getting lots of stitching done..

Blah....

Not much stitching going on this week.. :( Me and my BF of 5 years broke up, he said his "feelings changed", (for about the 10th time in 5 years).. For being a intelligent woman, when it comes to this man I'm the stupidest person on the earth!! I came home from work Tuesday and he had brought his keys back and left them on the counter (we didn't live together). That hurt so much.. but he's done that once before, then came back after 2 weeks. I need to just say NO when he comes back, and everyone says he will be back. It's a pattern.. :( Enough of this stuff.. hope everyone is doing well and getting lots of stitching done. When I have stitched, I am still working on the ABC's of Winter.. I just can't get into this like I did when I started it. It looks really good and is a cute pattern, I just can't get into it, and I want to finish it before starting a new one. I've ordered "TOO MUCH" stash this past week.. emotional shopping is the most dangerous.. lol and believe me I've done a LOT of that.. I need to stop, as I paid for a ebay order I won.. I am on the hunt for two Prairie Schooler patterns, Daffodils (March) & April. Their OOP, but I hope I can find someone who is willing to sell/trade/lend me a copy. You all know that feeling when were looking for a pattern and can't find it.. I think I'm losing my mind..lol I hope to go to a stitch-in tomorrow from 11-4 and hopefully get a good bit done on this ABC pattern. I'm ready to start stitching Spring stuff, done with stitching winter, I think that's why I can't seem to get into finishing this.

I'm still here...

Hi, Hope everyone is doing well & enjoying the winter weather. It's cold and snowy here in Denver.. but I guess it's suppose to be this way now. I don't mind, I love the snow and cooler weather, I just don't care for driving in it too much. I'm a good driver, it's other's I worry about. I've been stitching A LOT!! I'm doing Farm Girls #stitch9challenge, and still working on other projects as well. I know this is kind of short; hopefully I'll post more often.. The girls and grand babies are all doing well.. :)

I was MIA for a bit...

Hi, hope everyone is doing well; I've just been so busy with working and just life in general that I have been a bad blogger.. At my job; I was a server for 8 years with Black-eyed Pea, they approached me and asked if I wanted to be a manager, I thought about it and even though the hours are longer at my age (56), it was time for a change and even though I have days I want to go back to serving; I'm happy doing this; at least for now. My mom is still battling stage 4 lung cancer; she's in Ohio and I'm in Colorado; so it's very hard and at times I think of moving back home; which I still may do; we will see what her MRI looks like on the 4th of October; so far the chemo pill is stopping it from spreading. She's always been my best friend and we talk everyday. Please keep her in your prayers. I've been stitching a LOT, I lost my stitchy bug for a while, but I found it again and have been stitching up a storm.. My grandbabies are doing good; their in Texas and I miss them so much; we do see each other twice a year; I flew out over the 4th of July and their coming here Oct 15, I may go for a few days over Christmas I haven't decided yet; I'd love to go see my mom.. Take care...

Can anyone help me find this pattern please?

I just saw this pattern today and fell in love with it, my mom just went thru chemo and radiation for lung cancer; which she got from 2nd hand smoke from my grandpa and dads heavy smoking over the years; she just found out Friday that the cancer is still there; but it isn't spreading, so they are going to keep an eye on it, the chemo and radiation was vey hard on her; and the location of the cancer is in the lymphoid on her left lung, too close to the heart to operate. I have faith that she will be able to live many more years, healthy.. I know this pattern is an OOP and was a special offering, but if anyone has it and would lend it to me or even sell/trade so I can stitch it for my mom for Christmas I would be very appreciative... I'm baaacccckkkk...

I've been away from my blog for sometime now; my computer took a dive a few years ago and I went out and bought a tablet and thought that would be ok to use for a while, well it was ok for a bit, but I had to have a computer and finally went out and got myself a nice new Dell..now I need to go buy a new camera and I will be all set up and ready to start posting pictures of my stitching, but I have found that since getting said computer, my stitching has taken a little bit of the back seat..I have some new things going on in my life since we last visited.. I am stitching Let Freedom Ring and loving it... Ashley and the grandbabies are doing well in Texas, she wanted to get good Garth Brooks tickets for when he comes to San Antonio later in the month; so the day they went on sale she had her computer, IPhone and her hubbies computer all set up to buy tickets; and I had my IPhone and Ipad ready as well, so when they went on sale we were off...lol we had fun trying to get the best seats we could and she was so thrilled when she was able to get 5th row from the stage seats..when Garth came to Denver last year she flew out here and her and me and my oldest daughter Heather went and we had a blast...so she invited me to go with her in San Antonio and I jumped at the chance; and bought my plane ticket so I will be in Texas seeing Garth and my grandbabies.. Life doesn't get much better than that.. I have been working for the Black-eyed Pea restaurant for 9 going on 10 years now as a server, well I am 55 years old and single and I just needed something more steady (pay wise), one day i'd make $85 and the next it could be $25, and I needed a change; so I talked with my general manager and district manager and decided to go for management in April I started my training and now I am a manager and I do like the pay and benefits, but the long hours are tough. but it was a good change, I was able to get myself a newer car; I ended up getting a 2013 KIA Forte and I LOVE IT!! Hope everyone is well.

I got the "blahs"...

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, but I guess in reality I am..lol I've been working so hard to get a manager position at my job and I was to have my interview with the owner of the company this morning, so I got all dressed up in my best outfit and arrived early, only to be told that he had something "come up" and couldn't make the meeting, so I met with the District Manager and Office Manager, I think it went well. They said they'd let me know before Monday. I came home and swore I was going to get some serious stitching done, well, that didn't go as planned, I stitched for an hour and came to a point where I realized I'm one line off..so do I undo all I've done or just go with it, which is what I am probably going to do; since it's just for me and it's not an issue yet. My mom had lung cancer 2 years ago, and they removed the middle portion of her right lung, she got cancer from 2nd hand smoke, she's never smoked her whole life. My dad was a heavy smoker. She went for her 4 month check-up and another spot showed up, so they gave her a pep scan and another spot showed, their both in her lipoids, they removed the spot on her left lung, but can't get to the other one unless they remove the whole right lung, so their going to put her thru radiation/chemo, my mom lives in Ohio with my Step-dad. I live in Colorado. Things are just rough right now and I had to vent.. Thanks for listening my friends...

Finally some stitching...

I belong to a group on Facebook, and they loan out OOP Blackbird charts and I was lucky enough to be able to borrow Autumn Song and stitch it. I've wanted to stitch this ever since I received it; but I am working towards a manager position with the restaurant I've worked at for the past 9 years and have been working 10 to 12 hour days and haven't been able to stitch; but today I didn't have to be at work until 3, so I was able to start it. I got one leaf done before I had to get ready for work. It's not going to take me long once I'm able to sit and stitch on it for a day and my 55th Birthday is this coming Friday and I took it off work, and I think I may just be able to get some solid stitching done. Last night at work; I noticed this little boy sitting with the table tent from his table on his head, he sat there for a good 15 minutes if not longer with it balanced there; it made me smile, I wonder what he was thinking?? Not much else going on, Hope everyone is doing well and getting plenty of stitching done..

My Monday..

Those two days off go so darn fast.. I always have a list of things to do on my days off, and somehow never seem to get anything done, last week was a 54 hour work week and I was just so tired, hell i'm still tired. And didn't get anything accomplished. I have about 10 stitches to complete a project and just can't get into it. Ever lose your "Stitching Mojo?". I gotta go and get in the shower and get ready for work, at least it's a short day today, I get off around 4 today and then the next 3 days I work 1-11 or later..then 6 hours on Sunday. Hope everyone is safe and warm...

Happy Valentines Day..

Hope everyone had a great day, I had to work and we were pretty busy, I waited tables today; I've been a waitress for Black-eyed Pea for 9 years now, about 2 months ago I started floor supervising, hoping to be a manager soon. They need 1 new manager around March 1, and it's between me and another woman, who is younger.. I'll be 55 the 26th of this month and she's about 30, I hope that doesn't go against me, I think I'm good at my job, so I guess time will tell. Ashley and Torry bought the kids a trampoline, Scarlett is in gymnastics and they think this may help her, I think Torry and Ash are the ones who want it.. LOL I'm off from work the next 2 days and I have a "date", with a man I've been seeing off and on for about 8 months now, he's very nice, I guess some would consider a "good catch", but I just can't seem to connect with him, he's so good to me and is very caring, owns a beautiful home, he's retired from the Army, just about my whole family is connected with the military, his name is Terry. Just gonna take it slow and enjoy his friendship for now.

I've been MIA...

I hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for a Happy Valentines Day.. I have to work of course. So much has been going on in my life since I last posted; I haven't had a computer for over a year, just a tablet and it's hard to keep up with anything on one of those, so I went and got a new computer yesterday and can't wait to touch base with my blogger friends again, I follow some of you on FB, and I have gone to the library a few times and looked at what you all have been up to. My girls are doing well, the babies are growing so much, Ashley is 5 and Colton is 2, Hayden my oldest grandson is 20 now.. time sure does get away with us. On the stitching side; I still stitch as much as I can possibly do, sometimes I lose my stitching "mojo", but it does come back. I am working towards being a manager at my job; sometimes I think I may change my mind because of the long hours and sometimes I just feel like a over paid baby sitter. Take care all and I will be chatting with you soon. Hugs, Sharee

Hello from Texas....

Well, I made the flight in one piece. LOL I haven't flown since 1996 and let me tell you things have really changed...I didn't have any problems and even got my stitching scissors on the flight ok; they never said anything about them; I'd talked to several ladies and they had mixed experiences on the air lines allowing scissors. Some had lost their favorite ones, so I just brought a old stork pair that doesn't cut very well and there wasn't a problem. Me and Scarlett have been stitching, it makes this Grandma very happy when she asks if we can stitch, she's only 4 so I have to help but she's doing a great job. I brought Bent Creeks "Summer House" Zipper for us to do; it's on 18 count and the needle is huge so I thought it would be easier for us to use. It's so humid here; Ashley & Torry just bought their first home in Corpus Cristie; I've never been here before and the humidity is horrid!! It's rained everyday, this morning we had a really bad thunderstorm and I've caught a cold either from the babies or from the weather change. Hopefully it won't rain tomorrow so we can go to the ocean; I'd like to go home with some sun.. It's nice not having to worry about working for this week; but I"m kind of panicking about the money I'm missing. I'm single and a waitress and pretty much live day by day, the kids bought me a ticket to come visit them and I couldn't say no and I haven't had a vacation for almost 5 year. I guess I'll just worry and deal with things when I get home. I did have a amazing job offer before I left and I am praying everyday that it pans out; it would be so much more money and it's an office job and I'd be off my feet. I'm too old to be waiting tables; my knees are bad and I just can't do this much longer. I have so much to write about; but I'll just save it for another day. I hope everyone is safe and sound and doing lots of stitching.. Hugs, Shar

I'm still around.

Well, it's been a while since I've posted; I still don't have a computer at home, just my tablet and I hate trying to type on that thing. So, I come to the library every once in a while to print off free cross stitch, and get caught up here; I may go looking at computers today; I do miss having one and being able to update my blog. Last week Ashley flew here from Texas and her and I and Heather went and seen Garth Brooks, we had amazing seats and had a wonderful time, I fly to Texas on April 10 to visit the grandbabies for 7 days; I haven't had a vacation in 4 years and I sure am looking forward to just relaxing and hopefully getting some sun. They live in Corpus Cristie and it's right by the beach. I can't wait... I haven't been stitching very much lately; I just can't seem to get my stitching mojo going. I've started a few things but can't seem to focus long enough to make any progress. Hope everyone is safe and happy....

Merry Christmas....

I hope everyone is doing well and are healty and happy. I know the holidays can be a difficult time of year for many of us, those of us who have lost loved ones and can't be with the people we love. But we just have to be greatful for what we have and live our lives the best we can. So much has changed in my life over the past year, I don't even know where to begin...I'll save that for another day. LOL Ashley, Torry and the kids were here for Thanksgiving, we had a wonderful time and their moving to the Denver area in March, I'm so very happy about that. I've meet someone who makes me extremely happy and is a wonderful, loving man who I hope stays in my life for a very long time. Just a short note to say hi and even though I don't post like I should, I will try and get better, I read everyones posts and love all the beautiful stitching you all are doing, I've kind of lost my stitching "mojo", sure hope it comes back soon.. Love, Sharee

So much has changed....

I've been making some major changes & moves in my life over the past few months. I was offered an awesome job in Denver working for a non-profit that helps young men/women who just get out of prison get rehab, housing and jobs. My BFF's hubby is the director and I just love the work and am making almost double what I was in Pueblo. I am still working for the Black-eyed Pea 2-3 nights a week; just for fun money and because I've been waiting tables off and on forever and love the work with the public. So, I moved to Denver the end of April, I bought Kenny a bus ticket to Oregon, we've been having problems for a few years and I just need a fresh, new start... So, once I got settled I went to Fanci-Mats and met Cindy the owner who is a wonderful, friendly lady. I've become a regular customer and have had no problem spending my "fun money" there.. LOL I just ordered this pattern from Country Stitches this weekend when she posted it; I just fell in love with it.. can't wait to get it hopefully this week. I've been stitching some, not too much. I met a sweet man working at the Pea, were just dating now and taking it really slow; but he's very special and sweet and treats me well. Ashley and the babies are back in the states from Germany. Their living in Texas and are coming out for Thanksgiving, I can't believe Scarlett just turned 4 Sunday; time goes by so fast. I've been reading your posts and keeping up with your families and stitching.. :) Take care my friends....

Goodbye 2013...

Well, like many of us I'm going to start out the New Year with hopes of making some big (and not so big) changes in my life: I got myself a sewing machine on Black Friday and my goal this year is to learn how to finish some of the stitching that has been building up for the past few years; I love to stitch; but am challenged when it comes to finishing. LOL I want to be a "Grand Finisher" like Vonna & Myra & Lisa & Becky..:) So that is one of my goals for the year. Along with the normal lose weight and try to be a better person. The kids will be back from Germany the 27th of February; I can't wait to meet Mr. Colton; he's so darn adorable, and of course get my hands on Miss. Scarlett. We always Skype but it isn't the same as holding them. On the stitching front; I'm working on Lizzie Kates new "Snow" kit; I'm loving it and should have a picture to post in a few days. Wishing everyone a very safe and Happy New Years Eve. Be careful if your going out tonight; I'm going to have a quite night along with the dogs & cat and ponder my life..lol

Merry Christmas...

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and is able to be with friends and family today. Next year the kids will be home from Germany so we'll all be together.. Hugs, Shar
