A great giveaway...
Nancy over at Victorian Motto Sampler Shop is having yet another wonderful giveaway...
Getaway...
Me & Kenny went up to Cripple Creek Thursday and Friday; we didn't win "it" big, but we had a great time. We stayed at the Century Hotel, they just remodeled the rooms and we had a beautiful room, except there was a cold breeze coming from the windows which were directly above our heads. We went out and had a delicious dinner and gambled til about 1 then went and got a little 8" pizza (he was hungry) lol, and took it back to the room and sat on the bed eatting pizza. I didn't sleep too well because you could hear the noise from the casino downstairs. I don't think I'd stay there again because of that. Then we were up and showered and ready to get back down to eat our free breakfast which was very good; then we gambled a little more til we caught the bus back to Pueblo. It was nice to get away and I have more pictures I'll post tonight..
On the stitching front I finished December's Word Play and started the January Cottage from LHN. It's such a fun stitch; the color changes are beautiful. I have to get ready for work; I'll post more later..hope everyone is getting ready for Chritmas and having fun..

Thank you Shirlee
I won Shirlee's giveaway at Farmhouse Ponderings and reiceved my package today; it was well worth the wait!!!! She sent a couple little surprises; a beautiful prim doll and bell garland along with this beautiful caddie..I will cherish these for a very long time hun..thank you again Shirlee..
Years ago, (prob 25) I stitched my whole family Christmas stockings; over many of Heathers moves she lost hers; she recently moved back home (another story for another time, but I'm enjoying having her home again), I was unpacking Christmas things and came across my dads stocking I stitched for him; him and Heather were very close, since I was 17 when I had Heather my parents helped me raise her most of her childhood, and my dad was so much more than a "pap" to her. When we lost my dad 6 years ago; Heather has yet to accept his death. I know my dad wouldn't want anyone else but her to have his stocking; so with a heavy heart I removed "Dad" from the stocking and stitched "Heather". When she saw it hanging up she remembered it being my dads and cried. I told her she can have it but it stays with me. :)
I started to "finish" some of the ornaments and other "winter" things, first is this cube; I followed Vonnas instructions best I could; she makes it look so easy; believe me I struggled a little; but I think with time I will get it..LOL Thank you Vonna for sharing. I have more to write about but I am tired tonight and think I'm going to go eat a small bowl of ice cream and go to bed; I'm working 8 days straight because me and Kenny are going out of town Thursday and Friday; were going up to a little "gaming" town, "Cripple Creek". It's an old mining town that decorates the whole town for Christmas and we like to play the penny machines. We are staying at a new hotel up there; the rooms are regular $79 and we went online and got a nice room for $39 just for "liking" them on Facebook..I can't wait to get away; even if it's just for overnight...Thank you again Shirlee, you made my day...

A little stash...
I have been waiting for this order from Country Stitches for about 2 weeks; I know their busy. I got some burgendy felt, rusty bells & safety pins, needles (which I used last night and LOVE them) and some ribbon to "finish" my December Word Play with, then from DSL I got these 2 patterns and some material and thread. Kenny says I'm "Addicted to Cross Stitch" and doesn't understand why I keep ordering new things when I haven't stitched what I already have. LOL "Silly Man"...lol
I stitched on my DWP all evening last night; it was so much fun to stitch. Ashley sent me a new picture of Scarlett hanging her ornament. She's getting so big and I miss her so very much. I miss her mommy too. :) Only 2 more years to go til they come home. I hope to get to go over there (Germany) next Christmas. It's still snowing out; I have to work today and sure don't want to; I wake every morning thinking of a reason to call off..LOL

Welcome December...
We woke this morning to snow; I LOVE IT!!! And seriously thought of calling off work to just stay home and decorate the house for Christmas. But I never call off so I guess I'll just go. Here's Kenny giving Rowdy a treat.
When I got home yesterday I had a wonderful surprise in my mailbox from Joyce. It's for our Exchange group; she sent this cute pillow and pair of scissors; I have the blue ones and love the green..and 2 skeins of silk thread; thank you Joyce...Welp time to head off to work; hope everyone has a great day...

Cute Snowmen....
I finished these snowmen a few days ago; I have to get around to "finishing" them; I have 3 ornaments waiting to be finished. I just haven't been in the "mood" yet..lol I started my December Word Play; I ordered my "rusty bells" from Country Stitches last week so hopefully they'll be here by the time I'm done. I really enjoy stitching this; I tea stained some scrap material I had and it turned out really nice.
Yesterday I had a "girls day"; me and 3 of my friends went to Denver and ate lunch at Casa Bonita, it's a old mexican style restaurant I use to go to when I was a little girl; I haven't been there in years; I took Ashley there when we were doing the whole "Backstreet Boys" concert thing. LOL It's really neat inside; there's a 14 ft waterfall and they have a "show" where a diver juggles fire and dives in the pool below; same show for 30+ years..lol Then we went to 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver; it was cold and beautiful they have all the trees decorated; we went to Bare Escentuals makeup store and spent way too much money...I LOVE that makeup. Then we went to a AVS Hockey game; my first hockey game and it was such fun; I drove because the girls like to have a few drinks and I don't drink so I don't mind. We got home about midnight.
Well, I'm off to stitch the rest of the day...
