Merry Christmas...

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and is able to be with friends and family today. Next year the kids will be home from Germany so we'll all be together.. Hugs, Shar

It's getting closer...:)

I can't believe Christmas is almost here; with Thanksgiving being so late this year it really shortened the span between it and Christmas. I haven't posted in a while; I didn't realize it'd been so long. The kids come back from Germany Feb 27 and will fly to Dallas and then drive to Corpus, their new home and are planning to drive to see family in Colorado in March. I can't wait to get my hands on Colton and Scarlett..:) I miss all of them so much. It's been a long 3 years they've been over there. My other daughter and grandson are also doing well. I went and spent the night with them last week and we had a lot of fun. I stitched Colton and Scarlett Christmas Stockings, every year I stuff the girls stockings, they'd rather have those than big gifts. I do make a pretty good stocking. LOL I had to mail them off to Germany real early and it only took a week to get there. We thought it'd take longer. I haven't been posting, but get on blogger everyday to see what everyone else is doing and everyone has really done some beautiful stitching this season. It's sad to see it coming to an end for another year. I love the time from Halloween to Christmas. It's been colder here in Pueblo, Colorado then normal and I'm loving it..:) Were expecting snow this Christmas; I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've been thinking of our dear friend we lost Cathey, how her poor baby and family must be hurting so deeply this holiday season; life doesn't seem fair sometimes to take someone so young from the ones who love her. We all know how much she adored Jr. I went thru and re-read some of our person e-mails last night. She was always so positive and sweet; I know like so many of you, I miss her terribly and hope she rest in peace, she's watching her loved ones from heaven. I doubt I'll be on again before Christmas, I want to wish each and everyone of you and yours a wonderful Christmas and very safe and Happy New Year..Hugs, Shar

Welcome Mr. Colton...

Hi ladies, my computer died, yet again. So, until I get myself a new one (hopefully this week) I'm using Kenny's. I have been wondering how to word this post. Ashley, my youngest DD gave birth to my new grandson Colton on the 10th of October, as most of you know this is also the day we lost a very sweet dear stitching friend Cathey. When I got on the computer that evening to post pictures and the news of Colton, I read where we lost Cathey. I sat here and cried. Like many of you I never met her personally, but on our blogs we became friends, we traded a Halloween theme exchange that I will treasure always and we emailed each other a few times a month. My heart really went out to her and I was praying that she would beat this horrible disease. My heart breaks for her husband and sweet Jr. who doesn't understand why his mommy isn't with him. I know she is no longer hurting and is with the lord in a better place than we are for sure. So, now I will post some pictures of Mr. Colton Cassidy, :) Ashley was scheduled for a C-section at 7:30 a.m. on the 10th, they are stationed in Germany and are 8 hours ahead of us here in Colorado. Needless to say this momma didn't get any sleep that night. I stayed up waiting for my SIL to text me pictures and let me know how Ashley did. We almost lost her when she had Scarlett, so this was so very scary for us. Especially with her 1/2 way around the world. I have to tell you all, I cried off and on for about 1 1/2 hours. lol Damn Menapause..lol Well, at 8:10 Torry texted me that baby and mommy were fine. Colton weighted 9lb, 10 oz and is 21" long. :) He's so precious. I'm in love yet again. Being a grandma is the best feeling in the world. Here are some pictures of our not so "little" guy. On the stitching front I'm stitching on Scarlett's Christmas Stocking then I have to do Coltons. :)

Some Pictures....

I am so happy it's finally cooling off here in Colorado. I need to get my fall decorations up, I may just have to do that today. I went to Springs yesterday with the intentions of NOT getting any new stash, I had to go to my LNS and grab some GA thread and these 5 patterns were just lying in this sad little basket and I had to bring them home...I hate when that happens...LOL Not much else going on; Hayden is going to go live with his mom this next week, she's my oldest daughter and I'm so proud of her for turning her life around, she's doing GREAT and their moving into their new little apartment soon. I took them to look at it yesterday and we had lunch at Steak & Shake, it was great; we don't have those here in Pueblo, but Springs is just a short 40 min drive. I ordered some used older books from a lady I met on FB a few weeks ago and I was so happy when I got them, it was like Christmas. I lost about 75% of my stash years ago when we moved and of course that was one of the boxes that was lost and several of these patterns were among the ones I'd lost. I don't know if I'll ever stitch them, but I feel good having them again..lol And here are my Morning Glories, aren't they pretty??

So ready for fall.....

Hope everyone is having a great beginning of fall; I know I sure am enjoying the cooler weather lately. We've been getting a LOT of rain here in Colorado, I am very lucky that we don't have the awlful flooding that some of our state is having. It's so sad, we started out the summer with so many horrible fires and now the end of summer we are having these horrible flooding. Hopefully things will balance out soon. I was raised in a "military family" and was mar wried to a man in the Army and every few years I get that "itch" to move and it's sure with me now; only I don't know where to go..lol I've been seriously thinking of moving back home to Ohio, I lost my dear daddy 8 years ago and still have my mom and a brother and sis-in-law in Ohio; but mom has re-married and I like my step-dad, but I don't know if I could live with them for long. Mom lives in the "snow-belt" area of Ohio and they get buried in snow; mom wants me to come home and not work til Spring, just take some time off for me and not worry about anything, and let me tell you it's so tempting, their home is paid off and mom said I don't have to worry about paying her rent, she's never charged any of us kids rent. But I would have to pay for electric or gas or something I couldn't stay there and not help out. I can see me and mom sitting all warm and cozy in living room stitching while a big pot of Grandma Brewsters homemade beef stew simmers on the stove while the snow piles up outside :) makes me wanna leave now..lol on the other hand, I have a dear friend who said I can work with her at her company (an office type job) in Denver, which I LOVE Denver, I grew up there and there is so much to do and I know I'd have a good stable career, where as in Ohio I don't know what type of job I can find. I know my sis-in-law tells me jobs are very few and far between. Ashley wants me to move to Texas and live with them and be their "nanny" while Torry (sil) works on the oil-rig and Ash is going to nursing school (this will happen in Feb when they move back from Germany), and she's expecting my 3rd grandbaby Oct 10. Little Colton will be here, and you all know how much Miss. Scarlett means to me. All of these thoughts are just running amuck in my head...what to do???? On the stitching side, I've been stitching away on fall things, I'm getting a package ready to send Miss. Faye as soon as I finish my current project. She does such beautiful finishing. I've seen so many wonderful new patterns, in my "cart" at 123 Stitch I have the newest BBD Loose Feathers design and one of the threads I don't have and the material to stitch it on plus Santa's Village 10, with the gingerbread man on it. I'll send for those prob Monday. I am going to send for Country Stitches Limited Edition Kit someone is holding for me. :) If I decide Ohio is where I'm going I'm going to have plenty to do..Hope everyone is having a great week so far; I've been off the past two days, I have a LONG week ahead, I work 8 shifts in 5 days this week. I'm a waitress and let me tell you for 52 years old, some of those trays we carry kick my butt by the end of a double shift. LOL
