Jolly Jack & a new start

I finished "Jolly Jack" today and started a "freebie".. I'm not quite sure how I'm gonna "finish" him yet maybe into a cube? Any ideas?? Love the "freebie" it's from With thy Needle & Thread; thank you Brenda for such a sweet design. :)

It was so nice here today; I think our high was about 80, I didn't turn on the air conditioner til about 4. I can't wait til we don't use that stupid thing and our electric bill can go back to $60 instead of $140.

Me & Kenny both have Monday & Tuesdays off; so he decided to give Rowdy a bath; it was funny as soon as Rowdy heard the bath water running he came and jumped in my lap and when Kenny came to get him; he started to growl at him. LOL He hates his inbetween trips to the groomers baths..

I have to go get blood work in the morning; I had it done last week and the nurse called and said I was very enemic and my cholesterol was high and the Dr. wanted me to go back and have a "hemiglobin" blood test done tomorrow and then I have to go see her on the 15th; I wasn't suppose to go back til October; so I don't think this is going to be a good visit. I knew I was enemic because my periods have been so very heavy for about 3 months now; I know I'm going thru "The Change" and I sure wish it'd hurry and be over with. I'm 50 now and don't need this..lol

Colorado State Fair

Me & Kenny went to the fair last night with our friends Jack & Erin; we had a great time; Kenny loves to play the games at the fairs/carnivals and winning me stuffed animals; I now have 32 of them that he's won. LOL He won me a stuffed lady bug last night; I forgot to get a pic of her; but will take one tonight after I finsih Jolly Jack and post tomorrow. If you look close you can tell where I had to "frog" one of the black birds; I miscounted..:( I hate when I do that..LOL

I've really enjoyed stitching on him; he's so cute and I think I'm going to stitch one for my mom also; my step-dad's name is Jack and I think she'd love it. Both me and Kenny are off work tomorrow and Tuesday; I think were gonna have a "jamma day" tomorrow; I don't even think I'm gonna get dressed; just be lazy and stitch all day. :) That sounds like a great holiday to me..

I'm thinking of making a macaroni salad tonight then it'll be nice and cold tomorrow; I picked up 5 huge ears of corn for a dollar at the store on my way home from work today; so maybe we'll just have hamburgers, mac salad & sweet corn for supper tomorrow. Hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day..

Dinner anyone???

After Kenny went to work I decided to walk down to the library to print off a couple cute "freebies" (my printers out of ink) LOL then I walked over to this little bakery that's been in Pueblo prob 40 years; they have the BEST stuff!! I wanted to get something special for desert, I ended up getting a loaf of fresh wheat bread, banana nut bread and they had their sour dough loaves for $1 and there was 1 left so I had to get it; I'm making Chicken Catachori for supper and this bread will go great with it.

I ended up getting a couple of these puff pastries; I have a Hershey's Bar at home I'll melt on the double broiler and drizzle over the top and Kenny will love these..:) I only hope they make it to dinner..LOL I'll take a pic of my plate before I eat it looks so pretty...Now off to sit and stitch the day away. I'm not doing anything til 4; then I'll start my work laundry and finish up dinner. Hope everyones having a nice day..

TUSLA & stitching..

I didn't get much done yesterday on Jolly Jack hopefully today I will. I had to go to the Dr. and they did a bunch of blood work and then I had to go get my knees xrayed; they bother me, but I'm sure it's my work and age that are getting to me. Its hard work being a waitress. :) esp when your 50. LOL

I can't believe it's time for TULSA already and September is a few days away; where does the time go to? This year has gone by so fast. The kids are having a blast in Germany. They went to a festival this past weekend and sent some pictures so I'm sharing with you. Not much to say today; kind of woke up "bitchy" LOL...

Parade....

This is what I woke up to Saturday morning; the Colorado State Fair is held here in Pueblo and every year on the Saturday after the fair starts is the annual parade; well it lines up in front of our home. Every year I wake to the sound of a marching band at about 6 a.m. One year I opened the door and walked out to a helicopter ontop of a semi truck in front of our home. LOL

I thought the one from the Nursery was especially nice. I hope we get to go to the fair this year; I'm sure we'll make it at least once; it's so expensive and money is a little tight with Kenny just starting a new job and he doesn't get paid til the 15th of September. We were slammed at work today; I did make $75 and that's not bad for 5 hours of work. Not counting the $4.36 an hour I make. LOL I love being a waitress; it's hard work and it's especially hard on my feet and back; but I have a lot of "regulars" that I enjoy taking care of.

Kenny did all the laundry today and had made chicken breasts and mashed potatoes for dinner; they were really good. I am going to go do the dishes and then stitch on Jolly Jack I really want to get him done because I'm going to put out my Halloween decorations either tomorrow or Tuesday. Seeing everyone putting theirs up is making me want to put mine up. Oh, I stopped by the grocery store on the way home and picked up the Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue. :) I have to look at that before dishes..LOL Hope everyone is safe on the East coast...

A little stitching..

I was able to sit and stitch a little on Jolly Jack. It's really a fun stitch; I hope to get it done Tuesday. I have to work tomorrow and Sunday and I'm off Monday and Tuesday; right now Kenny is off on Sat & Sundays; so I have all day Mon & Tues to do whatever I want. I think I may go see "The Help" on Tuesday; it's $5 on Tuesdays. I don't mind going alone at all. In fact I think it's very enjoyable.

Barnes & Nobles is right next to the movies so I may go sit in there and enjoy some "me" time. :) The girls are on the plane safe & sound. I feel so much better knowing their almost to Torry. I am so proud of Ashley; she has grown into a strong young lady; I guess I did something right. :)
