Thank you Shirlee

I won Shirlee's giveaway at Farmhouse Ponderings and reiceved my package today; it was well worth the wait!!!! She sent a couple little surprises; a beautiful prim doll and bell garland along with this beautiful caddie..I will cherish these for a very long time hun..thank you again Shirlee..

Years ago, (prob 25) I stitched my whole family Christmas stockings; over many of Heathers moves she lost hers; she recently moved back home (another story for another time, but I'm enjoying having her home again), I was unpacking Christmas things and came across my dads stocking I stitched for him; him and Heather were very close, since I was 17 when I had Heather my parents helped me raise her most of her childhood, and my dad was so much more than a "pap" to her. When we lost my dad 6 years ago; Heather has yet to accept his death. I know my dad wouldn't want anyone else but her to have his stocking; so with a heavy heart I removed "Dad" from the stocking and stitched "Heather". When she saw it hanging up she remembered it being my dads and cried. I told her she can have it but it stays with me. :)

I started to "finish" some of the ornaments and other "winter" things, first is this cube; I followed Vonnas instructions best I could; she makes it look so easy; believe me I struggled a little; but I think with time I will get it..LOL Thank you Vonna for sharing. I have more to write about but I am tired tonight and think I'm going to go eat a small bowl of ice cream and go to bed; I'm working 8 days straight because me and Kenny are going out of town Thursday and Friday; were going up to a little "gaming" town, "Cripple Creek". It's an old mining town that decorates the whole town for Christmas and we like to play the penny machines. We are staying at a new hotel up there; the rooms are regular $79 and we went online and got a nice room for $39 just for "liking" them on Facebook..I can't wait to get away; even if it's just for overnight...Thank you again Shirlee, you made my day...

A little stash...

I have been waiting for this order from Country Stitches for about 2 weeks; I know their busy. I got some burgendy felt, rusty bells & safety pins, needles (which I used last night and LOVE them) and some ribbon to "finish" my December Word Play with, then from DSL I got these 2 patterns and some material and thread. Kenny says I'm "Addicted to Cross Stitch" and doesn't understand why I keep ordering new things when I haven't stitched what I already have. LOL "Silly Man"...lol

I stitched on my DWP all evening last night; it was so much fun to stitch. Ashley sent me a new picture of Scarlett hanging her ornament. She's getting so big and I miss her so very much. I miss her mommy too. :) Only 2 more years to go til they come home. I hope to get to go over there (Germany) next Christmas. It's still snowing out; I have to work today and sure don't want to; I wake every morning thinking of a reason to call off..LOL

When I got home yesterday I had a wonderful surprise in my mailbox from Joyce. It's for our Exchange group; she sent this cute pillow and pair of scissors; I have the blue ones and love the green..and 2 skeins of silk thread; thank you Joyce...Welp time to head off to work; hope everyone has a great day...

Cute Snowmen....

I finished these snowmen a few days ago; I have to get around to "finishing" them; I have 3 ornaments waiting to be finished. I just haven't been in the "mood" yet..lol I started my December Word Play; I ordered my "rusty bells" from Country Stitches last week so hopefully they'll be here by the time I'm done. I really enjoy stitching this; I tea stained some scrap material I had and it turned out really nice.

Yesterday I had a "girls day"; me and 3 of my friends went to Denver and ate lunch at Casa Bonita, it's a old mexican style restaurant I use to go to when I was a little girl; I haven't been there in years; I took Ashley there when we were doing the whole "Backstreet Boys" concert thing. LOL It's really neat inside; there's a 14 ft waterfall and they have a "show" where a diver juggles fire and dives in the pool below; same show for 30+ years..lol Then we went to 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver; it was cold and beautiful they have all the trees decorated; we went to Bare Escentuals makeup store and spent way too much money...I LOVE that makeup. Then we went to a AVS Hockey game; my first hockey game and it was such fun; I drove because the girls like to have a few drinks and I don't drink so I don't mind. We got home about midnight.

Well, I'm off to stitch the rest of the day...

Finally!!

I finally was able to decorate my blog (somewhat). Did anyone go out Black Friday shopping? NOT ME!! I hate crowds and just dont want to deal with all the rude people out there. I deal with them everyday at work..lol I use to go with Ashley when she was here; she loves to shop, that girl has a shopping problem; she has a problem w/Victorias Secrets "PINK" collection kind of like I have a stitching problem..lol

I didn't finish my ornament last night and I'm so close; me and Kenny watched "Super 8" last night. I liked it..have a great day full of relaxing and stitching...

Driving me Nuts!! & TULSA

I was going to change my blog for Christmas today; but the stupid *!* blogger is messing up; yet again; it won't let me copy or paste on my blog; as you can see; I earased my background because I was going to change it..I just got done trying again and it still won't let me; I've tried using a different mouse; shutting down and restarting; so I guess it's just the blogger messing up again; hopefully it'll be okay tomorrow..I swear I have more trouble than not on this site..

I worked today and we were busier than we are on Mother's Day; which is usually the busiest day of the year; I am a waitress at a nice family restaurant called "The Black-eyed Pea". My sales are usually between $200-400 and today when I got off my sales were $780! I made very good tips so it was well worth it; people were very friendly and thankful we were open. I guess people just don't cook anymore; what I'd give to be at my moms today (I live in Colorado and my family is in Ohio) w/my family. Maybe next year.

I got a little more stash yesterday; I fell in love with this Boughts of Holly design when I saw it and HAD to have it.. Here's my TULSA for this month..I'm almost done with Snow in Love; I will finish it tonight; I may just "finish" some of my ornaments tonight; I'm kind of in the mood to do that; I'm very tired though; my feet are killing me; especially my heels; lately they have really been giving me problems. Hope everyone had a wonderful day w/their families, friends..Ashley posted some pictures of Scarlett eatting her Thanksgiving meal; how I miss those girls.

Goodies...

I switched shifts with my friend; her sisters family came in this weekend and their having their Thanksgiving meal tonight and she asked me if I would trade shifts; I always work the day shift and I told her sure; I'll make more money tonight so I don't mind; I have to get the kids Christmas package sent out next week for them to get it for Christmas..Ashley caught Scarlett playing on her daddys computer; isn't this a cute picture??

I started "Snow in Love" and I heard the mailman leaving something between the screen door & front door and KNEW what it was; so there went my stitching (for now) I LOVE getting new stash and sitting and looking at it; when I get threads I have to post them in my documents; I have spread sheets for each brand: WDW, GA, GA Shaker, CC..that way I don't get too many doubles. LOL Kenny laughs at me for having it but he has no idea howmany I have or he'd really think I have a problem. (which I do)...but, don't we all??

I ordered some of the camel felt to "finish" some of my ornaments with and come beautiful chenille from CC. I have about 4 colours now and hope to get more; I love them. Well, I am going to go back to stitching, I don't have to jump in the shower til 3 and I'm sitting here in my nightgown; Kennys at work and I'm watching all the Barefoot Contessa shows I taped all week. Have a great weekend...
