A little "Berry"...:)

Hope everyone is staying cool in this awlful weather; I'm diffidently hating life in this heat it's been over 100 almost a month straight now here in Pueblo..YUCK!! Yesterday Kenny took Hayden to the river to swim and they were gone over 6 hours so I had some much needed "alone time"..lol I love my guys but I needed a break..it's different having a 16 year old around all the time when your use to it being just the 2 of us. It'll just take a little while to adjust and he'll be in school soon.

So, I cleaned and did 3 loads of clothes and decided to stitch this little strawberry and put on the jar I had found the day before; I'm embarassed to say this ladies, but me and Hayden were walking around downtown and this adorable jar was lying on the top of a garbage can and I had to have it; so I got a kleenex out of my purse and put it in his backpack and brought it home and soaked it in bleach water over night and it's beautiful...I never go "dumpster diving"..lol but just couldn't leave this jar..:) I'd won these beautiful strawberries from Traci and bought these sunflower fillers from Denise last year and they are perfect together in my little jar...:)

I stitched the berry up pretty quickly; and did something I haven't done in a long time...BACKSTITCHING!! Man, I diffidently don't miss that...the patterns I stitched when I first started stitching (in 1984) all had backstitching in them and the ones now barely (if any) backstitching...thank you designers for that blessing..lol Hope everyone has a wonderful day; and of course here's my angel Scarlett playing in her pool...she's gonna be 2 next month; I can't believe shes getting so big.. I found my cat (Baby) sleeping on my dining room chair...she looks comfy huh??? LOL

Happy Dance....:)

I had a great week at work and was able to order the threads for my Lizzie Kate Halloween Mystery Sampler today; I placed the order w/Anita Little Stitches and the shipping was a little over $10!! For just threads; so I called her and asked it that was right and she said no it's only a little over $2, so she emailed me an invoice and I hurried and paid it so it'll go out on Monday!! What a sweet lady she is; she was so polite and friendly; think I'll do all my on-line buying from her from now on..

I have been stitching on my Simple Joys and I really don't know why I ever put this down; I'm really enjoying working on it; and I can't believe its time for TULSA again!! Where is this year going?? I'm gonna go stitch while the guys are at the river swimming and it's nice and quiet.. It's the Hermit weekend you all know!!

An "oldie" but a "goodie"..

Have you ever looked thru the pile(s) of WIP that you have and come across something and wonder why you ever put it down??? Well, this happened to me today with the Simple Joys piece. I've been stitching on it all evening and really enjoying this design; lord only knows why I put it down. I recieved my Lizzie Kate Mystery Sampler today along with the material for both the bonus piece and the sampler; now I just have to order the threads; I couldn't afford to order it all at one shot..LOL But you can rest assure I will be ordering it on Friday when I get paid..

I finished this "Summer" design; it's so cute and I stitched in up in 3 days; now I'm stitching on the fob that came with the pattern; I'm stitching it over 1 thread and have never done this before and prob never will again; I'm really struggling with seeing the material. I was lucky enough to win a giveaway from Sandra at Plain & Fancy Merchant. I LOVE her designs and can't wait to get this stitched up and put on a candle. :) And of course here's my precious granddaughter Scarlett; I know I'm her grandma but isn't she the most beautiful baby EVER!!!! LOL (not counting your own babies of course; but as someone elses..lol) Hope everyones keeping cool and stitching a lot..

Ta...Daaaaaaa... :)

I finally finished my Mystery Sampler today...YEA!! I had to do the "Finished Happy Dance"....LOL I'm taking it to Hobby Lobby tomorrow to be framed then off to the Colorado State Fair..I knew what my next project was going to be; so after I put the part 3 chart & the threads away from my Mystery Sampler I pulled the threads for my "Summer" project. I'd ordered this from 123 Stitch a little while ago and couldn't wait to get it started. I forced myself not to start it before I finished the Sampler. I stitched all evening while we watched 21 Jump Street; it was really good & funny. Me and some girls from work are going to see Magic Mike on Tuesday night..can't wait!!

Kenny got home; it's back to the job hunting for him tomorrow; I think I'm going to go to Hobby Lobby and Goodwill; I need some new work jeans; our "uniforms" are jeans and black polo shirts. Lucky me getting to wear jeans everyday. I've started looking around for a new job; I want an office job. Waitressing is getting too hard on my body. Hayden went camping with his stepdad; my daughter Heathers ex hubby; he's still in contact with Hayden and invited him to go camping this week and I think he'll have a great time; Ryan is a nice guy; he's a Colorado State Patrol Officer. I wish him and Heathers marriage would have made it. Oh well, I guess I better get to bed; kind of tired tonight; I'm thinking of having this "Summer" pattern being a "Traveling Pattern" when I'm done; anyone interested??

Blah...

I know thats not a good title for my post..lol Sometimes I'm just at a loss for words and right now is one of those moments. I don't wanna go to work today and have to start getting ready in about 10 mins and I just feel "Blah".

Kennys still in Oregon; he'll be home next Friday night. Me and Hayden (aka: Boo, to Grandma) :) are getting along good; he is taking care of Kennys garden for him and keeping me good company. He walked to my work yesterday and we had dinner together and then went to Kmart; I got him a few things & we came on home and watched a stupid vampire movie. He liked it; I thought it was dumb; but watched it anyways. :)

Still haven't stitched; except for about 20 mins yesterday before I left for work; I finished the house on my Mystery Sampler; I'm so close to finishing it; I just need to force myself to stitch on it; I just don't feel like stitching right now. So much has happened the past week. Thank you again ladies for your sweet, sweet words; they mean a LOT to both Kenny and myself. Hopefully my next post will show a finished Mystery Sampler. :)

So sad...:(

Kennys mom (Penny) had a heart attack about 10 days ago and had to have a double bypass surgery; she got a staff infection and just never bounced back, Saturday her kidneys started to shut down and then his sister called Tuesday and said her lungs had stopped working and they'd put her on life support and Kenny had better get home; with him outta work we just didn't have the money for him to get there; his sister called a family friend and then he called Kenny and bought Kenny a plane ticket so he could see him mom before she passed. God bless you Lynn for doing this for him. It broke my heart to see this 6'5, 240 lb man break down. His family is in Oregon and were in Colorado. So he called me at 3:30 this morning and said he sat with her and held her hand and said what he needed to, her eyes fluttered and then bless her heart she went with the Lord.

She was an amazing lady whom I loved dearly and she will be dearly missed by many. I wish I could have sent with him; but I have to stay here with Hayden and I have to work and keep things going here. Keeping an eye on this horrible fire in the Springs; its an hour drive from here and I hope they can get control of it soon; so many people losing their homes; its so sad.

Thank you again ladies for your sweet, sweet words about Hayden. He's doing well, we ordered pizza and had a movie night together last night; he feels bad for Kenny; the two of them get along really well. I haven't stitched for days; but hopefully I will be able to sit and relax tonight and get a few stitches in my Mystery Sampler. Take care sweet ladies and I have truely been bless with some wonderful friends..

Thank you..

Thank you ladies for your sweet words and prayers. Hayden is 16 years old. He told me "Grandma I prayed and right after I did a really nice lady picked me up and gave me a ride for about 20 miles and gave me $50", "then a really nice truck driver picked me up and brought me to Pueblo". I cried. I just hugged him and cried. My heart just breaks for him. But he is safe now and will stay with us. I am going to take him to Goodwill and Arc (like goodwill) today and see if we can get him some clothes.

Not much stitching planned for a few days. :) Gotta fatten my "Boo" up...he's so thin. :( But Grandma will take care of that!!! LOL
