Happy New Year and some new stash.

Hi, I went to my LNS on Tuesday and here is my stash I bought. I am going back on Monday to get a few things I saw and just have to have. LOL Don't you hate when you see something and don't buy it; then when you get home it's all you can think about?? LOL

2010 was a rough year; I hope 2011 will be better; even though in Feb. I will be 50 years old. That's my "scary" age. I am really dreading this birthday; but what can you do? Just deal with it and move on. Me and Kenny are talking; so who knows what will happen there; one minute I want to be with him and the next I just want to be alone; but being 50 and alone isn't what I had planned. We'll just have to wait and see.

I know I'm planning on moving back to Ohio this spring and can't wait for a new fresh start. My SIL inherited her parents home and said I could live there; it's really a cute little 2 bedroom house not far from moms. It needs some TLC. I hope everyone has a safe and happy year to come. Thank you all for the sweet comments on my giveaway. And of course here is a new picture of Miss. Scarlett. She's 4 months old now and such a joy; I'm babysitting tonight.

Time for my first Give A Way!!!

I have reached 50 followers and as I said earier; when I reach 50 I am having a give a way!! I'm so excited I can't wait!! I have gathered some great "stitching goodies" and a few little extras; I decided not to post the gift yet; I want it to be a surprise. :)

Your name will have a chance to be entered a few times; first comment on this post, second you must be a follower, and for a third chance mention it on your blog. I will put everyones name in a bowl and let my darling granddaughter (Scarlett) pull a name on January 15th. I can't wait.

I wish all of you a safe and very happy new year; I hope the new year will bring health and happiness to us all. This will be my last post of 2010. I have LOTS of stitching plans for 2011. :)

Hugs, Shar

Merry Christmas to ME!!! :)

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I have been putting a little money away to buy myself a Chrismas gift. I have $100 to purchase myself some new "stash" :) I've made my "order" about 25 times now. LOL I keep changing it. I'm ordering most of it from 123 Stitch; because they always send my order out so fast; and then Stitchers Closet sent me a 25% off coupon;; but they are closed til Jan 4, so they say to expect a 2-3 week delivery; so I"m ordering a few things from them that I don't have to have right now. LOL

Ash & Torry & Miss. Scarlett went to Canon City to take family pictures with his mom and sisters; so the house is nice and quiet. I miss my quiet time. I'm sure in March when they all move away I'll have more than my share of quiet times; and will miss the hectic days/nights we have now. I am thinking of going to the mall today and Joanna's and see if I can find some deals. But I am really enjoying my time alone right now. Maybe later.

Think I'll go stitch; I'm almost done w/frosty and want to finish it today. I don't know what I'll start next?? Maybe something for the "spring"? We'll see...:)

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Well, here I sit all alone; the kids went to dinner w/my SILs family; they invited me but I just don't feel like going. I feel kind of blue; I miss Kenny. It's so funny how people come into our lives and make a impact on you and your ways of life. I never went anywhere or did anything until he came in my life and now that he's gone; I feel myself slipping back into my little cocoon again. Once Ash & Miss Scarlett leave in March I will really become a hermit.

I'm a waitress and I wait on little older ladies who come in alone day after day and I look at them and wonder will I become like that? I wonder what their lives are like; does anyone call them or care about them or do they just "exist". Kind of like me right now. I haven't talked to Kenny in 3 days now and am sure it's pretty much "over"; I guess I"m just feeling sorry for myself tonight; being Christmas Eve and all.

I am blessed with 2 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandkids; whom are all healthy and safe. I have a mother that loves me dearly and she is healthy; I can't wait to move back to Ohio and be with her for the rest of her life.

And I am blessed to have all my "blogger friends"; you have brought me more joy and laughs than you realize; Ashley calls it "my old lady stuff". LOL I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas and are safe and able to be with the ones you love and that love you back. I guess I better go and wrap the kids stocking stuffers; I have been told I do make the "BEST STOCKINGS EVER!!" LOL God bless all of you. Hugs, Shar

Look what I got in the mail today!!!!

I won a give a way on "Olde Country Cupboard" blog and recieved my gifts today!!! :) Thank you so much hun, I LOVE the tree and the tarts have my home smell like I've been baking away; which anyone who knows me knows better. LOL

I was in 3 Christmas Ornament Exchanges this year and this is the 3 I sent out. I know I need to work on my finishing technique (sp?) I'm new at finishing; before I found "blogs" I only thought I could frame my stitching; little did I know what all you ladies do! I'm just learning. I'd love to learn how to sew my smaller pieces into little pillows; I just got my Aunt Lee's sewing machine and am dying to sew something. :) Any help is greatly appricated.

My SIL is home on 2 weeks leave from the Army; they are staying w/me and it's great having him home. Then he'll go back to Virginia for the rest of his training. We still don't know where they will be stationed. I haven't decided yet; but I might just follow them; especially if they go South. I don't have anything or anyone holding me here in Colorado. I was thinking of moving back to Ohio to be with my mom. Which is probabley what I will do. Also, of course here are some pics of my little angel. I had just given her a bath. I love those eyes. :)

Only 3 more followers and then I'm having a great give a way!!! You may want to pass the word. :) I have gone thru my stash and found several duplicate charts and a few surprises; I don't know if I'll list the "gifts" or let it be a surprise???

Thank you..

I just want to thank the ladies who have commented on my last post. He isn't my DH Kathy, he's my "boyfriend". We've been together almost 2 years. I'll be fine; I miss him, I don't know if it's him specifically or just the companionship? I'm figuring all that out now. I appriciate all you ladies and your sweet comments; they help me a LOT.

Back to stitching on Frosty. I have to get it done. I want to do the Gingerbread couple and the stack of gingerbread men in the 2010 Just Cross Stitch mag. Hope everyone is getting lots of stitching done. Hugs, Shar

Ba Humbug!! LOL

Those of you that have been following my blog know me and Kenny have had our problems; he went back to Oregon in Sept to take care of some personal business; my DD and GD moved in with me while my SIL is away; he joined the Army and was at basic training and is at AIT training now til prob March. Before Kenny went back he knew that they were going to stay w/me til then. He finished what he had to do and wanted to come back early; and I told him he has to wait; I have a small 1 bedroom house and there isn't room. The crib in in the dining room.

Well, to keep things short; we had it out last night, because I caught him a yet another lie and I've had enough; I don't trust him is what it all boils down to and I'm too old to "settle" you know? I'll be 50 in Feb. Life is too short to deal w/lies and someone who won't hold a job. I can't tell you to amount of stress that's off my shoulders w/Ashley here paying 1/2 the bills. I've been able to buy myself a little stash now and then; or go shopping for myself if I need new panties or something. So I'm a single lady yet again; I cried, it hurt because I do love him; he made me laugh a lot and we had a lot of fun; plus he's sexy. LOL and 5 years younger than me.

I'll be okay; I just wanted to share what's going on in my life w/my blog buddies. I enjoy reading all your blogs and seeing all the beautiful projects you all make; I've gotten so many ideas from you all on finishing my stitching; before I started blogging I just thought you could "frame" stitching. LOL I have been stitching the Frosty ornament for myself; I'm almost done. I'll post a picture; sorry it's a poor one I used my webcam. I don't know why the material looks like I spilled something on it in this picture, it doesn't look like that. Of course here's another picture of my little darling; she keeps grandma happy now. Hope everyone is having a better day than me. I did win a give a way!! I'll share that info w/you tomorrow. I'm so excited. It's just what I need.

Mailed 3 ornaments today...

Hi, hope everyone is having a great holiday so far. I went shopping after work and started buying things for the kids stockings. I make GREAT stockings. :) I think the girls are going to love theirs this year. I finally finished the 3 ornaments for exchanges; I have recieved 2 so far. I am a few days late mailing them. They turned out really cute; I still have to work on my "finishing" I"m kind of new to it; I'll get better.

This is my dining room and my little tree I keep up all year; I just change it every month; I decorate it for each holiday. I saw it last summer at a yard sale for $5; I came home and told Kenny about it; and after a while I told him lets go back; I have to have that tree and he offered the lady $3 for it and she took it. I love it. And of course a few new pictures of my darling granddaughter; Scarlett. I can't believe she's 4 months old. Where is the time going? Her daddy comes home on Saturday, Ashely is counting the hours. :)

I can't believe I have 45 followers. When I get to 50 I'm going to have a Give a way.. :) I'm starting to look for "goodies" to give away.

2011 Stitching Challenge List..:)

Well, I am off work today; Scarlett woke me at 8:30 and I changed her and fed her and played w/her for a while; til she fell asleep in her swing. :) I decided to go thru my stash and pick out my 15 projects for the challenge. It was harder than I thought to only pick out 15; but here are the ones I picked: (in no particular order)

1. Small Tokens by BBD
2. Rose Garden by BBD
3. Primitive Tree by Ewe & eye & friends
4. Pumpkin Cottage by CCN
5. My Best Friend by Waxixng Moon (for my mom on Mother's Day)
6. Autumn Row by Bent Creek
7. Pumpkin Hallow by LHN
8. The Pumpkn Farm by Fanci That
9. Some Things are Better Rich by Waxing Moon
10. Mini Samplers IV by Homespun Elegance
11. Watermelon in a Garden by Fanci That
12. "Yikes" by Cricket Collection
13. Leggy Snowman by Heart in Hand
14. Almost Halloween by The Drawn Thread
15. Red Houses by Prairie Grove

I have some of them kitted up and others I'm waiting on the threads; I just placed a order w/123 Cross Stitch; I love that site; it's probabley my favorite on-line shop; I've found they ship fastest.

I have to "finish" 3 ornaments today and get in the mail tomorrow; I'm going now to get my hair cut then home to colour it; the grey hairs are taking over. LOL Me and Ashley are going to both get hair cuts and I'm going to colour both our heads. We have to get hair cuts in "shifts"; one will stay home w/Scarlett while the other one goes. It's just easier that way. Sounds fun huh?? LOL I also want to stitch for myself today; haven't done that for a while. I also have 2 RR's I need to get stitched up and sent out this week. I'll be busy.

Great give a way

Jennifer at http://feathersinthenest.blogspot.com/ is hosting a great give a way.

Her blog is amazing w/a warm story of her grandma. I am making my grandma's home made veg/beef soup. It cooks all day on the stove and has our home smelling GREAT!! I'll post a picture later.

I finished stitching 2 ornaments last night and will finish another one today and then I will "finish" them and post pictures once they arrive at their new homes.

Look what I got in the mail today...

Thank you again Rita for this beautiful Christmas Ornament. We are in a yahoo stitching group together and this is what she sent me; along w/2 beautiful pieces of christmas material and 2 skeins of DMC threads. I worked a double today and it sure was a great surprise to come home to.

I'm mailing out Rita's ornament on Monday and will post a picture when she recieves it. I'm positive she'll love it. :) Gonna go read some blogs and stitch; maybe look thru some of my stash; gotta get that list made up for the 2011 January challenge. Can't wait!!!

My girls are back..

Ashley and Scarlett just got home from seeing my SIL graduate from Basic Training from the Army. She went w/her MIL and 2 SIL's. I had to work and couldn't go. They are a cute family. He'll be here in 2 weeks from the 19th til Jan 1; then he goes back to Virginia for some schooling.

While they were gone; I didn't stitch as much as I wanted to. I am almost done with an ormament I have to get out in the mail Monday and I have a halloween theme RR I also have to get out next week. I'm just not in the mood to stitch. Lost my "stitching mojo" LOL. I did join the 2011 stitching challenge; I don't know how I'm ever gonna do it. LOL but it'll be fun to try. I have to decide what 15 projects I want to do. Shouldn't be that hard. LOL Wish me luck....

Wish me luck...

I'm going to do this crazy 2011 January Challenge; go to : http://minnanharrastukset.blogspot.com/2010/11/ristipistohassutus2011.html
to join this. You pick out 15 projects; get them all packaged up and each day from Jan 1 thru the 15th you start each project and have all year to finish them. How fun is this going to be? I can't wait.

Ashley and Scarlett are leaving for my SIL's graduation from basic training; their riding w/her MIL and 2 SIL's at 5 in the morning; they'll be back late Friday night. So, I'll have 4 days to spend getting my kits made up. Not much else going on; I've just been working and that's pretty much it. I was off today; but it was way to cold outside; so me and Scarlett stayed home while Ashley went to Walmart and to get her nails done. This is a picture of Scarlett and Ashely.

I'm going to Colorado Springs tomorrow to my LNS to get some material & threads for my challenge. I didn't do any shopping this past weekend. I'm a last minute shopper. LOL

Finished, next in line and Miss Scarlett

I finished Peppermint Twist, I just have to "finish" it and add candy cane button and started my next ornament; but I think the material I'm using is too light. I took these pictures of Scarlett on my webcam tonight; she's so precious...LOL I love being her grandma!!

Happy Thanksgiving

I was off work today and Ash & Scarlett went shopping with one of Ashley's friends; so I was all alone all day!!! :) That doesn't happen very often. I cleaned; did 3 loads of clothes; watched my "cooking shows" and stitched. I should have it finished tonight.

I made "breakfast" for supper; biscuits & gravy (homemade of course), bacon, & eggs. I just did the dishes and now I'm all ready to settle in for a evening of stitching, I'm going to finish this ornament and start another for an exchange. I think I may send this peppermint one to my SIL. When I was home a few weeks ago; we had a lot of fun.

We have no plans for tomorrow; Ash doesn't like turkey and I have to work from 9:30 to 3:30, we get a free meal; so I'll probabley eat w/the girls at work. Ash doesn't care. Hope everyone has a nice, safe Thanksgiving. Is anyone going shopping on Friday? I don't think I'm going to brave it. LOL

Looking for a chart...

Hi, does anyone have a copy of Leisure Arts #2130; Quick Kitchen Stitchin they'd love to sell/trade? I stitched some stuff for my mom from the book prob about 10 years ago; well, when we moved a few years ago; the ONLY box to be lost was one w/some (about 75%) of my stash. When we went to my mom's last week I saw them and now I want to stitch them for myself. :

I went to my LNS and was very disappointed; they hardly had anything new; I got 3 pieces of material and 2 little red bird buttons and a few things of WDW and CC and that's it; oh, and a new pair of scissors; blue stork type w/snowflakes; they were too cute to leave.

We don't have plans for Thanksgiving; I have to work til 3 and it's just me and Ashley and she doesn't like turkey; we don't really get into Thanksgiving; if we lived back home with all our family I know we'd enjoy it more; I probabley will be honme for Thanksgiving next year; we are probabley going to be moving back home this spring; Ashley will be moving where ever her DH gets stationed; and taking my beautiful Scarlett away from her grandma; and I won't get into that conversation or I'll cry. I've become very attached to this little angel. Now I have myself sad; I'm gonna go. LOL I did change my blog today to a Christmas theme; I hope you enjoy it.
Hugs, Shar

Miss Scarlett

Well, it's time for this grandma to put some new pictures of my little angel. She's 3 months old today and is such a good baby. I'm a huge Steeler's fan and my DD bought Scarlett this Steelers outfit.

I need help finding a chart...

Does anyone know the book these are from? I stitched these "pokes" for my mom about 10 years ago and since I lost most of my stash in a move I don't remember where their from and would like to stitch some for me. I believe their a Leisure Arts book; but I'm not sure..

Pics of our trip, stitching and stuff...:)

We had a great trip; the weather was good we only ran into a little rain on the way home. We took pictures of everything. LOL And of course grandma took lots of pictures of Scarlett; she's 3 months old and getting so big; she's "cooing" and making all kinds of cute sounds. I have tears in my eyes all the time. LOL Their happy ones. The "stash" picture is the gift I recieved from Terri Hall; she is so sweet. And I had started this picture a while ago and just finished it when I was home. I'm going to start working on Christmas stuff now. No more pumpkins. LOL

The church is where my mom and dad were married; and this is my mom holding Scarlett.

Thank you Terri Hall..

I just got home from my mom's in Ohio last night and went to get our mail; and there was a package from Terri, I was so surprised and HAPPY!!! Terri had a wonderful giveaway on Halloween and I thought I had won, I emailed Terri and it was another S. Smith that won (just my luck) LOL; well, Terri said she felt bad because I misunderstood and was so excited when I thought it was me; she sent me a little goodie package; I will post a picture of it later when I download the pics from my camera from our trip. Thank you so much Terri; I can't find your email right now but wanted to thank you so much; I LOVE everything!!! and don't have any of the charts your sent; and love the necklace, it's beautiful.

We had a good trip and it was so nice to see my family; I am seriously considering moving back to Ohio this spring; to be closer to my mom and brother and sister in law; Ashley is moving in March; we don't know where yet; he hubby doesn't have his orders; he is just finishing boot camp from the Army. I have several pictures to share; I was able to stitch a little while I was home. I inheriated (spelled wrong I'm sure) LOL my Aunt Lee's sewing machine and I don't didn't have one, I was able to bring it home. I can't wait to get it out and start finishing some of the designs I've stitched to make into pillows. :)

Thank you again Terri; your very thoughtful.

Gonna be gone...

Me, Ashley and little Scarlett are driving to my mom's tomorrow. Were driving from Colorado to Ohio. :) We have done it twice before so it shouldn't be bad. I don't mind driving; traveling with a baby and all the "crap" you have to take it's just cheaper to drive. I can't imange hauling everything in the airport and beside I'm terrified of flying. Haven't flown since 1996 and don't care if I ever do again. LOL I will miss reading all your blogs;; my mom doesn't have a internet. We'll be back between the 12 and 15th.

Hugs, Sharlene

New Stash...

Hi, getting ready to leave for my mom's on Wednesday morning. Wish us luck; traveling that far with a 2 month old baby. LOL I think we'll be fine; she's a real good baby. I love ordering from 123 stitch; they always send out things so fast and it's always packaged so nicely. I have another order ready to send them; but since I'm going to be gone I think I'll wait till I get home.

When I'm able to I'll post my LK exchange piece. It turned out real cute.

Happy Halloween!!

Hi, Happy Halloween everyone. Hope everyone's having a fun and save day/night. We haven't had any trick or treaters. So I guess I'm stuck eatting the Milky Ways. LOL
Me, Ash and Scarlett leave for my mom's on Wednesday morning. Were driving from Colorado to Ohio. I don't mind the drive; we have a nice car. I haven't been home since I lost my dad 5 years ago.

I finished my LK exchange today and it turned out so cute; I have to make myself one now. :) I'll post a picture when she recieves it. I hope she likes it. Here's a picture of Scarlett in her "costume". She's so precious. I love being a grandma. I probabley won't be posting much for the next few weeks; my mom doesn't have internet but my brother does.

Hugs, Shar

More pictures of Scarlett...

I did stitch some today; I started my LK exchange; it's so cute and won't take me long to finish; I'm off work the next two days and besides running some errands tomorrow I'm going to be housebound and do nothing but stitch and make a pot of homemade chili that will cook on the stove all day... YUMMY

Well, here are the newest pictures of Scarlett; she's starting to coo and trying to make noises when we talk to her. Yes, grandma is a Steeler's fan. :) I'm having such fun with her. I love being a grandma so much. My grandson is almost 15 his name is Hayden. He's my "boo". that's a nick name I gave him when he was little; he tells me he's too big to be called that and I tell him he'll never be too big. LOL I think I'm going to go shower and then stitch some; I'm not tired and don't have to get up early.

I was bad and sent another order into 123 Stitch this morning for some more stash, 2 patterns and about 4 more CC, and 2 GA. Not too bad I guess it could have been worse. LOL

Good Morning...

Good Morning all!! Ashley and Scarlett went to Denver today to stay with some friends and it was way too quiet in here last night. I was going to stitch all night; but never picked up a needle; I played on the computer and just relaxed. I'm DVRing some old classic movies today; the origional Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman and Wolfman meets Frankenstein. I've never had a DVR before and LOVE it!! I've been a taping fool. LOL

I LOVE the old Andy Griffith show; but ONLY the black/white ones w/barney. I don't like the coloured ones. I have about 15 of those taped and watch them when I'm alone and stitching. Ashley hates them. LOL But it's a classic I think. I have to work today and sure don't feel like it. Would love to just enjoy my day. I work a double today and won't be home til about 9 tonight; it makes for a long day. Here are some pictures of my two tuck pillows; I change them every month.

New Stash!!

Well, I broke down and went to my LNS; "just to look"!! LOL well as you can see I did more than look. LOL It's been a while since I bought myself some stash and it was great therapy. I know Kenny will agree with that! Ha! They didn't have many new designs; but there was some older ones that I have been wanting. I'm slowly getting the threads for certain projects. They are kind of expensive so I have to get a few here and there.

The Pumpkin Cottage and 28 ct material and 4 of the threads I ordered from 123 Stitch on Sunday and recieved them today. I love that shop; I always get my things so fast. I've entered a few awesome drawings lately and sure hope I win one at least; I haven't won one in a while. Isn't my granddaughter is beautiful? I took the picture of her and her mommy this morning; I went into the bedroom to get something out of my dresser (their staying with me now and me and Ash share a room) and caught them asleep in the exact same position and thought it was so cute. Scarlett doesn't sleep w/us; she just fell asleep there after she had her breakfast. Hope everyone is having a good week so far.
