Fun at the Colorado State Fair!!

I was off work today; and was able to stitch a LOT!! First I finished the Red Winged Blackbird from Bent Creek for myself; I stitched one for my mom; I want to finish it into a pin pillow; and I went to the Quilt shop downtown last week and found the perfect material and I know that when I finish it I'll want to keep it; and since it was such a fun stitch I decided to stitch myself up one and I"ll finish both at the same time; I'll post a picture when I'm done. Kenny took Rowdy (our dog) down to the river to swim for a few hours to give me some alone time. :) So I watched re-runs of Andy Griffith (my favorite, but only the black & white ones w/Barney) and stitched; I started a RR I'm in; the ladies theme is "Kitchen". It'll be real cute when I"m done; then we ate dinner; (left over spaghetti; which tastes better the 2nd day) and decided to go up to the Colorado State Fair.

It's only about 1/2 miles from our home; we walked around and he played a few games and won me 2 big stuffed animals. :) A white bear holding a pink heart that says "I love you" and a big purple and white cow. LOL I"m 49 years old and I still get a huge smile when he wins me a stuffed animal. I'm up to 27 of them now. LOL then we went and sat on the grass and listened to a band that was playing for about 30 minutes and went back to the car where we found a parking ticket because we were "too close to the walk way". We were at least 20 ft. from it! Besides the ticket we had fun. Back to work tomorrow. YUCK!!

Thursday post

I didn't do much today; I worked a short shift; a few years ago I tore the MCL in my left knee; well not having insurance I've never been able to get it fixed. The other morning I just rolled over in bed and twisted my knee and almost shot out of bed with pain; well I went to the Dr. and she told me to be off it for at least a week and that can't happen, so it's taking extra long to heal this time. It's really bothering me today; I'm off tomorrow. I get to babysit Scarlett for the first time tomorrow. :) I'm going to take my stitching to do and a couple loads of clothes; I can use their washer and dryer and get it done while I"m there. The kids are going to look for a new and bigger car in Colorado Springs. I'm stitching on Bent Creeks Red winged blackbird; I did this one for my mom; and went to the quilt shop to find material to finish it and they had the perfect material; so I know when I finish hers I'm going to want one for myself; so I'm stitching that and then I'm going to start a Kitchen Theme RR. I ordered the threads for my fall stocking exchange in my Blackbirds yahoo group, hopefully they'll come in soon.

I need to stitch!!

Hi all, I've been so busy with working and going over to see Miss Scarlett!! I didn't go over on Friday; thought I'd give the kids a break from "mom"; and Ash said Scarlett didn't sleep good at all Friday night; and it's because "grandma didn't come see her" LOL I worked a double yesterday and was so tired; but I went over to visit for about an hour. So hopefully she slept last night. LOL Then on my way home I decided I wanted a chocolate shake from McD's; and waited in line; there was 2 cars in front and 3 behind me; so when I got up to order; their shake machine was broke!! I had to wait in line for NOTHING!! LOL I guess I didn't need it anyways. Ha! I have to work today and then over to see Scarlett and hopefully I'll be able to stitch some tonight; I have an hour before I have to get ready for work so maybe I'll stitch a little now. Hope everyone is having a great weekend...

My new granddaughter is here!!!

Hi everyone, My DD Ashley had a beautiful baby girl Tues the 17th; she wts 8lbs, 15oz and is 20 1/2 inches long; shes a big baby; ash had some problems I will post the whole story later tonight; I have over 400 emails to get caught up on. I just wanted to post a picture of our little angel and say hi. Baby and momma are home and doing great.

Look what I came home to!!!

I came home from the grocery store and saw the box sitting on my front porch; and almost forgot the groceries; well, actually I let Kenny unload the car and I went to get my package...

Have you ever had problems stitching a certain design????

Because I have NEVER in my 25+ years of stitching had the problems w/a picture like I"m having with this model I"m stitching. It's a Fluer Cross and just done w/white DMC floss and I've had to frog twice; and noticed I have to take out another 3 rows this morning. If it was for me I'd just say (you know what) LOL and go around my mistake; but it's for a designer and going to be the cover of the book. I'd put a picture of it on here; but don't know if I"m "allowed" to??? This is the first time I've stitched for them.

Kenny went to the junk yard and got a new passenger window for my car and he replaced it; saved me about $90; but I still need to replace the windshield; that's $150. I'll do that on the 22 when I get paid. Work was awlful; I waited (I'm a waitress) on the rudest group of 13 people I've EVER waited on in my 20 years of waitressing. Ruined my whole day; I actually went in the bathroom and cried. and I don't cry easy. Well I think I'll go work on that picture; and pray I don't find anymore mistakes.
