SAL & a new fur baby...

We lost our cat Mickey last July; he was hit by a car :( I finally decided I was ready for another cat. There was an ad in our paper for a free female hymalian (sp?) already declawed & spayed, 3 years old. So when I was at work Sunday Kenny went and looked at her and knew I'd love her so he brought her home. Well, she's only been with this man & his son her whole life and just hisses at us all the time. She hid the first few days and then started coming out. Yesterday she finally let me pet her; she was rubbing on my leg so I could pet her; and she was hissing at me the whole time. LOL So hopefully she'll come around soon. She's just beautiful. This little nook is where she stays all the time in my hutch. (notice the ornament I just finished about 3 weeks ago) :) I still have to put it away.

On the stitching front I'm almost done with a gift for someone so I can't share those photos yet. Shirlee & I are doing a SAL on the January Word Play; I stitched on it a little bit last night; I just couldn't get into the stitching mood. I had ordered me some goodies from 123 and got them Saturday. I can't wait to start February Cottage; love the pinks. I have so many things to stitch and no time to do all of them.

I'm watching one of the last "One Life to Live" shows. I HATE that they are cancelling this show; I've watched it prob 40 years of my almost 51 years of life; I remember going to visit my Grandma when I was little and she watched it; so I did to. Then my mom got hooked on it and I watched it with her; I've been taping it for years and every evening I will sit and watch it & stitch; Kenny even started asking "whose that and wasn't he with that other woman or I thought she was dead"..LOL Times are changing I guess; people want shows to show them how to be "better". It makes me sad.. And of course here's a picture of Scarlett; she's so precious. Ash was getting her dinner to the table and she wanted her Mac & Cheese NOW..she didn't want to wait...I love the look on her face...LOL

Another snowman...

I stitched this snowman in 2 days..he was such fun to stitch I didn't want to put him down; I came home from work at sat right down to stitch; I still have my work clothes on. :) I have started something I can't share right now; it's for an exchange. (it's adorable)..

These are a couple of patterns I want to work on soon; hopefully I'll finish my "gift" and will be able to start one of my "January" pictures. Me & Shirlee are going to do a SAL with the January Word Play. I'm really addicted to this series. I think Shirlee is only going to stitch January's; but I'm going to hopefully stitch the whole series.

A finish & new start...

Hi all, hope everyone had a wonderful & safe New Years. We had a quiet one; I worked then we went to Golden Corral for dinner and then laid in bed watching T.V. til midnight; then we went to sleep; pretty quiet night. I'd love to go out; but there is just too many drunk & crazy people around.

I was off work today, I cleaned the house and then sat and finished my January Cottage, & started this little Heart & Hand kit I found in my growing pile of stash. I've had this kit for about 4 years I think..lol Something I "had to have". I am really enjoying stitching it; the material is a little dark and hard to see but I'll manage..lol I'll be stitching a lot of snowpeople for a while; I'm in the mood to stitch them...lol Sorry the picture is blurred; I'll take another one tomorrow; I should be done. I'm off work and plan on stitching most of the day; I do have to run to Kohls and return some work shoes I got, they hurt my feet; so I'm taking them back. I need some new jeans for work hopefully I'll find some on sale. Here's my TULSA jar; all empty and ready for a new year of stitching...I have the past 2 years in another jar. I'll have to take a picture of that sometime..

Kenny is off work today and he makes the BEST spaghetti sauce; he surprised me and made it today; he cooks it in the crock pot and when I was stitching I heard him doing something in the kitchen and went to investigate and he was putting it in the crock pot..yummy; we just ate and I ate too much..

Little bit of everything...

I am off work today because I am going to my customers funeral. I am nervous about going; I haven't been to one since my dads 6 years ago. I cleaned all morning, took down the Christmas decorations. I know your suppose to wait til after the New Year but I just got the "urge" and took advantage of it. LOL Who knows when it'll be back.

When Ashley was younger she belonged to a horse club; she was Queen for 3 years in a row. Every Saturday was filled with horse shows; I use to complain because it was cold etc...but what I'd give for those days to come back. I skyped w/her and Scarlett for about an hour this morning; Scarlett is walking all over the place. I sure hope I'm able to go visit them next year. I'm planning on going for Christmas.

I got my order from 123 yesterday; I was able to stitch the roof on my January Cottage; I maybe able to finish it today; Kenny works til 8:00 tonight. Were going to dinner on his break at 4; the funeral is at 2 so I should be able to make it. I guess I better go get ready...

Last TUSLA for 2011..

I haven't done much of anything but stitch & eat for the past 2 days...lol I won't have to eat for the rest of the week. LOL

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas; it's hard to believe it's all over now; it takes us weeks to prepare, shop, cook, decorate and it'd over in 1 day. I am ready to take the decorations down now. I will probabley do it Wedesday; I'm usually off on Monday/Tuesdays but I have a funeral to go to on Wednesday so I switched days w/a girl at work.

I've been stitching on my January Cottage; I still don't know how I'm going to "finish" them? Any ideas?? I was thinking of making big pin keeps & put on a easel on my hutch, or pillows? I don't know yet..Sorry so short, I have "turkey burn out" I think. LOL Of course here are some pictures of Scarlett opening her Christmas gifts; she's getting so big...
