Road Trip

Me and Ashley are going to Montrose today to pick up my grandson; He's going to stay with us for a few weeks for the summer. I know he'll be bored; but hopefully we'll be able to keep him entertained for a few weeks. LOL He's 14. It's about a 5 hour drive; we were going to go up last night and get a hotel; but their so expensive; Montrose is a little mountain town and we can't stay w/my oldest daughter because their place is way too small; and I don't really care for her boyfriend. Gotta go; gonna take some stitching with me; Ash wants to drive some and it'll keep me busy.

Wonderful surprise in the mail..

I got home from work and had recieved my breadcloth from Brooke from my Ohio group (yahoo group) exchange. It's beautiful!! I can't wait to use it in my kitchen; I have a basket I'm, going to put it in and add fun stuff to. I'll post a picture when I do this. I worked today and it was dead, there's a "Boats, Bands & BBQ" at the Riverwalk; me and Kenny are going to meet my friend Rhonda there at 7:00 to listen to the 80's group "Foghat" ( I think that's it ) LOL. I hope it cools off it's in the mid 90's and very hot.. I haven't been stitching much lately, just been taking a little break. Maybe Kenny will win me another stuffed animal. LOL He loves playing those carnival games; and is pretty good at them. Hope everyone is having a fun summer so far. And being safe. My niece leaves for Cancun for her class trip; I pray she is smart and stays safe.

Hi all!!!

I finished my breadcloth for an exchange tonight and was going thru my craft closet and came across a "wip" I totally forgot about. Gosh knows how long ago I started this; It's a "Heart & Hand" design, 2006 collector's heart "love is in the air" I have about 1/2 the boarder done. So I pulled my floss and started working on it again. :) I worked a double yesterday and worked the day shift today; I did pretty well, so me and Kenny are going to drive up to "Cripple Creek", and old mining town about 2 hours away; they turned into a gambling town. We just play the penny machines and last time we went I won $90 on a penny machine. I'm feeling lucky. LOL we only go a few times a year; it's a beautiful drive thru the mountains. Wish me luck; I am feeling the "need" for some stash; maybe I'll win big and can have a nice "give-a-way" for my pals. LOL

What a day!!!

I ended up going to the emergency room today; when I woke up I couldn't hardly move; my sciac nerve flaired up, I had to call off work; the Dr. gave me a work release slip to be off for 2 days; but I can't afford to lose two days. I picked up a double shift on Saturday to make up for missing today. I haven't felt like stitching today; I just kind of kicked back and relaxed the rest of the day. Me and Kenny went to a friends birthday party Saturday; and Marcy took this picture of me and Kenny; I think it turned out pretty good. Well, I'm off to bed; meds are kicking in. LOL

Couldn't sleep last night...

I couldn't sleep last night; I was looking thru some blogs and some free sites and came across this adorable picture w/the blue bird; my printer is out of ink and it looked like it would stitch up pretty quickly; so I started stitching it around 11 p.m. and finished it at 1:20 a.m. LOL ; using the computer. I just propped it up on the arm of my stitching chair and stitched from it. I don't have a digital camera; so the photos I take are from my web cam; and it's not too good of quality, I stitched this on 28ct. linen and used my choice of Gentle Arts threads and DMC. I don't know how I'll finish it yet, I'll decide that today. I am off work today and slept til noon!!! Which is crazy for me; I never sleep past 8. Gonna go start a breadcloth for an exchange.

Great News!!

I went to the mall today; we are getting a JoAnne Fabrics in July; well they were doing a job fair; I filled out an application and talked to the store manager; and we hit it off great, she hired me on the spot!! I start June 21, the store opens July 16. I told her I really wanted to work in the cross stitch area and she put it on the top of my application and said it wouldn't be a problem... I don't know if this will be a good thing or not!! LOL Things at work have been so slow; and with Kenny prob going to move out soon; I need extra income and this was a blessing. It really made my day....

Just another day in paradise!!! NOT!! LOL

Not too much going on. My DD Ashely; had her Dr. appt and Scarlett is doing great; she has to go to the Dr's every two weeks now. Scarlett is due Aug 14. Me and Kenny aren't doing well at all. I think it's over this time. But I'm ok with it; were just two totally different people; who want different things in life. I'm a big girl; I'll be just fine. :) I haven't been stitching in a few days; to much stress around here to relax and stitch. I was accepted to join the Lizzie Kate Exchange blog; that made my day yesterday; I think that will be a lot of fun. I've also been in touch with a few on line shops about doing some model stitching for them in exchange for "stash" LOL, and one says she even has a designer who wants to talk to me; they would pay me. But I'm not too sure about stitching for money? I don't want it to seem like I "have" to stitch you know? But on the other hand; being paid to do what I love would be great. What do you all think?
